Gradiente térmico experimental en las agujas de acupuntura en un tratamiento típico

Resumen

Introducción: Las agujas son el principal instrumento utilizado en cualquier técnica de acupuntura, por lo que el estudio de su comportamiento térmico es indispensable para determinar si éste fenómeno podría influir en los resultados de un tratamiento típico que excluye a la moxibustión y la aguja de fuego. Por lo anterior, el objetivo de este trabajo fue determinar el gradiente de disminución de temperatura a lo largo de la aguja fuera del paciente en función de la profundidad insertada en el mismo en tratamientos convencionales de acupuntura.  Método: Se insertó una aguja dentro de un recipiente de unicel a profundidad de 5, 10, 15 y 20 mm. Para cada profundidad inmediatamente después se midió la temperatura sobre la aguja a las distancias de 0, 5, 10, 15 y 20 mm. Se analizó la influencia de la profundidad de inserción de la aguja sobre el cambio de temperatura a lo largo de ésta fuera del paciente. Resultados: Se determinó el gradiente térmico sobre la aguja de 0 a 20 mm de distancia del maniquí hacia afuera. Conclusiones: En un tratamiento de acupuntura convencional, el gradiente térmico de la aguja fuera del paciente tratado con acupuntura no depende de la profundidad de inserción de ésta en el paciente.
