Abstract

The Innovative Eco-Formation Model 7 (MEF7) represents a transformative proposal for teacher training at the secondary level, addressing the issue of anthropocentric and fragmented approaches that ignore socio-ecological interdependencies. Inspired by principles of eco-formation, transdisciplinarity, interdisciplinarity, integrality, and reflective practice. The model structures seven recursive phases: Intentionality, Foundation, Planning, Implementation, Co-evolution, Evaluation and Reflection, and Sustainability. These phases promote holistic training, integrating transdisciplinary competencies, an ethics of care, and integral human development, aligned with the New Mexican School and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The objective is to transform teachers into agents of change who promote planetary consciousness in their students, responding to the current ecological crisis. A mixed methodology was used, based on a content analysis of the main contemporary epistemic approaches and the analysis of data from a survey directed at a representative sample of teachers. It is concluded that the implementation of the model represents a concrete opportunity to transform secondary-level education from its roots and decisively contribute to building a viable future for future generations. In addition, its adoption could mark a break with obsolete educational paradigms, aligning with global visions such as integral ecology and offering a viable path toward integral human development in response to the planetary crisis.
