From Idea to Story: Interdisciplinary Coordination in Preschool Education for Teacher Training

This article systematizes an experience of interdisciplinary articulation in the Preschool Education major at the University of Costa Rica. The strategy was developed during the 2023 and 2024 academic cycles and linked the courses FD 0590 Fundamentals for the Development of Physical and Digital Resources in Early Education and FD 0151 Body Expression in Early Education, with the aim of enhancing the creation of textile and literary resources. The objective is to analyze a pedagogical proposal oriented toward teacher training that allows students to move beyond theory through meaningful pedagogical mediations. A total of 56 students participated in the experience, 25 in 2023 and 31 in 2024. From a methodological standpoint, this qualitative study focused on the individual creation of textile resources and the collective development of literary narratives, supported by specialized accompaniment within the instructors' respective disciplinary fields. The results show a strengthening of psychomotor, literary, and creative skills in the students, as well as the development of collaborative work and oral expression through direct interaction with children in real educational contexts. It is concluded that this curricular synergy strengthens the professional profile of future teachers and promotes an interest in reading and writing during early childhood.
