Experience at the Quevedo State Technical University – 2026 Entrepreneurship in Higher Education Students

Entrepreneurship arises from economic necessity, the desire to achieve goals, or the pursuit of independence, and offers the opportunity to develop creative and innovative initiatives that become productive projects. These projects foster financial autonomy, contribute to a country's economic sustainability, generate new jobs, incorporate labor, and stimulate the economy of a sector. The objective of this research is to analyze university entrepreneurship, focusing on the experiences of students at the Quevedo State Technical University (UTEQ), in order to identify the projects undertaken by students, their implementation, and their importance to the canton's economy. Bibliographic and analytical methods were employed, through the review of books and scientific articles indexed in databases such as Scopus, SciELO, and Latindex. Data collection techniques such as observation and surveys were also applied to a probabilistic sample of 373 entrepreneurial students from UTEQ, based on a previously established theoretical framework. It is also important to highlight the need to provide support to student entrepreneurs through financial institutions and agreements that promote the development of new projects.
