The mental health of healthcare workers in clinics and hospitals is generally quite poor, regardless of whether they are in developed countries or emerging economies, given that the shifts of doctors, paramedics, nurses, and nursing assistants often involve a number of weekly hours far exceeding what is considered healthy, adequate, and responsible. The objective of this study was to adapt a workplace violence prevention model, with the goal of redesigning it for the conditions of Latin American countries and developing nations. Subsequently, the theoretical and conceptual framework was developed to provide technical and methodological rigor to the proposal, and it is concluded that if these types of low-cost tools are implemented effectively in healthcare workplaces, all personnel working in the healthcare sector will experience a dramatic improvement in their quality of life and their job satisfaction.
